Sports Leader Camp's gonna stuck in my pea brain for like forever cause something interesting happened during that one particular day. Anyway, long post ahead!!
1st Day:
I woke up feeling all sleepy and irritated especially when I'm having a hard-core morning sinus, better still, running nose. Thought that I'll be late so I rushed to school but end up reaching school early. Pfft.
At 7.30am, we had debrief and was separated into groups. Mine was Friendship! Started off with ice breakers. Then flag making. Friendship's flag was far beyond creative, with all the splitter splatter stuffs and hand prints :D
A while later, we had team building games. It went well except for some games were last minute prepared which kind of annoyed me but *sigh* what to do.
The evening run was torturing and crazy! From Springfield to countless rounds at Bedok Reservoir. Did push up and my kneecap bleed due to the rough surface of the ground. *sigh*
Confidence walk started at 9pm and before that, Mr Muz called out the seniors to give us some words of advice (more to frightening). He told us not to say anything if we saw things that weren't meant to be seen. Worst still, he even told us a ghost story before letting us go to our respective places. -.- Damn it.
My checkpoint was at the library with Atiqah. At first, we're unsure of where to sit cause we did not want to face the library and so, we end up sitting on the bench that is near the wall next to the I&I room. Atiqah faced some parts of the library while I faced the other building of the school. We got comfortable with the surrounding as we keep ourselves talking but suddenly, I saw a huge black figure, the silhouette of a bat but bigger than that flew fast behind Atiqah. I was loss of words and quickly looked down instead of looking directly to Atiqah's face. I swear I don't know what it is but yeah, that's what I saw. (or maybe just a figment of my imagination? I don't know) If you think that is worst, how about the next one? After regaining some confidence and read prayers, I looked up and continued the talk with Atiqah. I felt something was looking at me and so, I looked directly to the relief teacher's room and guess what I sawwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!
A white figure(lollipop) staring at me. :'( I felt like crying but I stayed strong and continued to read my prayers.
I even saw some at the Home Econ room but it's not that scary as the one I saw at the relief teacher's room.
I felt relieved that it was already 2am cause it was then, the end of confidence walk. Thank goodness this will be the last camp I attend! (hopefully)
2nd day & 3rd day
Due to sleeping very late yesterday, most of the sec4s woke up late and had to rush for our flag day. It was an eye opening experience because after holding the tin, you have the tendency to feel sad and heart broken when people did not donate as you realized that it's not difficult to just put a 10 cent coin in the tin. So some people donated thus causing my tin to be nearly half filled until Fahmy and his friends came to my side!! Kacau daun betol ah korang! XD Then he asked me what's the secret to my success of having people to donate at my tin. Haha!
Flag day ended at around 12 and head back to school.
Continued camp and had to prepare ourselves for the night cycling and tracking. Since I am the 2nd day ass. i/c, I had to help Tong Juay give instructions to the cohort. I was obviously not confident and did not project my voice loud enough for everyone to hear but as time pass, I began to become confident and managed to give instructions to them.
I can't believed I've cycled 40km!!!!!! From ECP > Changi > Pasir Ris Park > TPC > Bedok Res > Bedok C > ECP. My hands and kneecap hurts as well as became swollen after the long hours of cycling. We arrived back to ECP at around 4am and from there we began our track. I was sleep walking all the way and didn't realized that I walked fast enough and end up, walking beside Bernice and Annabelle who were at the front. Cool. I began to felt sleepy again so I decided to eat my green peas as I remembered what Mr Muz told us, "DRY FOOD HELPS YOU TO REGAIN ENERGY. IT HELPS YOU TO BE AWAKE." Haha. And valah! It works! I began to stay awake and continued to walk. Recommended Bernice the green peas, telling her that it help you stay awake and in the end, she's awake too. Haha. Cool right?
Reached Springfield and was over the moon cause I managed to endure the hardship but at the same time, half dead because I was so exhausted.
Through this camp, I learn to become a confident leader - do not be afraid of your own shadows, endurance and most importantly, finally believe THOSE THINGS does exist.
:P
Finally I'm done. i don't know who will read this but yeah! I'm finally done!
